1st weekend in June 2008 will be in the 90's, people would be lined up by the 100's to go to Victoria Pool again

A small victory. While yes, it will be warm this weekend, how was anybody supposed to guess that weeks ahead of time? (Also, I believe is has been less-than-ideal pool weather all week) The point this summer and every other summer, Louise, is that it is impossible to predict the weather on June weekends with enough certainty. While it will be warm this weekend, how was park staff to know 3 weeks ago (time to prepare, fill and treat the pool)? If the weather had been poor, that would have been an enormous waste of taxpayer dollars. Once again, the weather is too variable to warrant opening the pool- in the past 10 years, the pool has not earned enough on average to fund the salaries of the necessary (by law) staff on these weekends in June. Stop complaining and enjoy the pleasant weather in other ways!

Ah, Simon, you should move to Saratoga where the weather has been ideal pool weather every day since Memorial Day.

I think the pool should open every year on it's anniversary...July 26th.

There now I sound as crazy and silly as you do.

Funny, I was pretty sure that I already resided in Saratoga, and I'm pretty sure that the weather has been less-than-ideal pool weather- was it sunny at your house on Wednesday? Certainly was pretty chilly and cloudy in my part of town.

This is only more proof that some people live in la la land where the weather is always sunny and bright or they choose to present things with their own slant. You pick. Either way, it's not good.

"Simon" how dare you bad mouth this group! They are only sticking up for the innocent public that gets raped year after year by the greedy state park system.

Shame on you, "Simon"!

Some anonymous comments include name calling which we do not publish on this blog.

No "anonymous" shame on you! How can you defend this "society!" All they do is complain and sling mud! For a week now people have been asking for one rock solid tangible example of what they have accomplished and they haven't provided a thing. There's a reason for that...they haven't done anything!!! Going in the Saratogian and the Post Star and bellyaching about cracks in the roof and old lockers is not doing anything productive! And I'm not surprised that you receive some name calling blogs...

And what the hell are you talking about "innocent public that gets raped year after year by the greedy state park system" Ah you big cry babies give me a break! A lousy $6 to swim in a pool and you go all to pieces...how about the motion picture industry? $10.50 to see a movie...now that's nothing less than rape! What has become of people? A bunch of ungrateful whiners! So I'll say it again...SHAME ON YOU!

Don't you speak to me that way "Nightwing"! You're all big and bad on a blog but let's see you say that to our faces!

I'll say everything to your faces and a lot more. Anytime, anywhere! I just hate the thought of arguing over something so absolutely ridiculous as this swimming hole. Truth be told, I hate the sun, I hate swimming pools, I hate being with people. The only reason I am on this stupid blog is because some concerned citizen has to stand up and let the public know what a fine and upstanding organization the Spa State Park is and make sure that they know that this society is a fraud with some sort of a foolish axe to grind!

"Nightwing" is obviously a big fat headed goober with a lot of repressed anger that he feels he must release by lashing out at the Victoria Pool lovers. And what the hell kind of a handle is "Nightwing" anyway? What are you a teenager?

Goober? Louise, surely this falls under "namecalling"!

goober is a term of endearment:

goober 330 up, 167 down

A term of endearment used in place of a person's real name; a nickmame. The first word that comes to mind when your baby starts to crawl, walk, talk. Used only in the most loving of ways with no negative connation at all. A loving nickname for someone who is pure, innocent, warms your heart and makes you smile.
