Its a random tree in a parking lot; how can it be your favorite. As I recall the tree wasn't even in that good of shape. Hopefully it will make another parking slot for the already busy lot.

It was my favorite tree too. Many times my cat Sprinkles and I would sit underneath it and bask in the wonderful peace and shade it would create. It became a good friend, like a member of the family...sometimes when I was depressed I would talk to it about my problems and I swear that it understood what I was saying. I only wish that I had children so they could have spent time with it. Now it has been plucked from the Earth and taken some place where nobody loves it. Shame...for shame!

This is the foolishness I talk about on this blog

What's the matter VV? You got ice water in your veins? Some people happen to grow very attached to certain things. Now sure you might be thinking why can't he go out and find another tree to sit under there are so many...but it's not that easy. You may not care about me...but what about Sprinkles? An innocent little cat needs a shady place to rest her head when she is in her favorite park in the summer time. Now I don't give a single flippin fig about this swimming pool but this tree...and all its brothers and sisters are like members of the family. If you've never had a beautiful experience that has brought you closer to nature I feel very sorry for you. You must be one of those snobs that sit waiting with your chainsaws and bulldozers screaming "concrete is cleaner!"

So much for parking in the shade.

What is so incredulous about this is the cost of tree removal. Any homeowner can attest to the fact the removal of one large tree like this runs over a thousand dollars. Someone should investigate the ties between the tree Removal Company and top park officials. The only shade left is in these shady contracts.

That tree was diseased, you are lucky it didn't fall on you and your cat (or car). But of course then you would have sued the parks for NOT removing a hazard.

good thing that tree was removed, just by looking at the stump you can see that it was rotting. Show a picture off it before it was removed, dead and ready to fall and kill someone.

P.S. The tree was removed by Parks, not a tree company.

you people are ridiculous. Get a freaking life & start worry about something of significance. There's a reason why no one takes you seriously.

how about you get a life and stop complaining about every little thing the park does. they obviously did it for a reason not just to spend money.
